So what does GameHost offer?
Here are some of the more important features: Allows
remote starting/stopping/configuring of game servers
Schedules starting/stopping/configuring of game servers
Runs as a Windows NT service
Aids with complicated command-line parameters and
console commands
Restarts crashed servers
Gives others limited (or unlimited) access to your game
servers
Allows you to run games with varied process priorities
Allows you to run games on specific processors
Allows remote
configuring/starting/stopping of game servers
GameHost is a program that runs on the same
computer as your game server(s). Then using the client program named the
GameHost Console, you can remotely configure, start and stop your game servers.
Schedules the starting and
stopping of game servers
GameHost lets you schedule when your servers
automatically start and stop. For example, you can choose
to start your servers on weekdays at 6:00 PM, stop them weekdays at 8:00 AM,
and have them run all day on weekends.
Runs as a Windows NT service
If you run GameHost on Windows NT, GameHost runs as a
service. This means GameHost and your game servers run in the background
even when no one is logged on.
Aids with complicated
command-line parameters and console commands
When you setup a game server using GameHost, you don't
have to know all the complicated and confusing command-line parameters or
console commands to get started. GameHost presents you with
understandable properties and values that make it a snap to setup your game
servers exactly how you want them.
Restarts crashed servers
GameHost keeps an eye on your game servers once
their started. When GameHost sees one of your game servers crash, it
immediately restarts the game server automatically.
Gives others limited (or unlimited) access
to your game servers
You can create GameHost usernames and passwords
and give those users either full or limited access to your game servers.
This is great for lending your game server for clan battles.
Allows you to run games with varied
process priorities
For an extra performance boost, you can change
the process priority of your game servers to high or real-time.
Allows you to run games on specific processors
If your GameHost computer has more than one CPU,
you can choose which CPU each game server will run on.
