As of this version, GameHost will no longer work as a server on any variants of Windows 9x (including Windows ME). Windows NT/2000/XP should all work fine. By dropping support of Win9x on the server we're able to take advantage of some advanced features of NT that will allow GameHost to be more reliable.

After giving it a lot of thought, we've decided we won't be enhancing GameHost any further than version 1.5.0004. We may add support for new games in the future, and we will fix any major bugs that users find, but there won't be any more major releases. Unfortunately the market for dedicated server operators is too small to justify us putting more time and money into developing GameHost.

We sincerely appreciate all the input you've put into GameHost, and we're sorry we aren't able to improve the product further. If anyone is interested in purchasing the source code to GameHost for use in another product, you can email me and we can dicuss the terms.
